Call for Artist Donations for the March for Science
The Buffalo March for Science would like local artists to create March posters to be auctioned during our April 20 Benefit Concert at Stamps...the Bar on 98 Main Street in Tonawanda at 6pm. To fill one of the auction openings, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The posters should highlight the Mission of the Organization:
The March for Science champions robustly funded and publicly communicated science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good and for political leaders and policy makers to enact evidence based policies in the public interest.
The poster should be painted, drawn, marked on both sides and a minimum of 22”x28”. Any letters or numbers should be 3” or larger. Since these posters can also be used as artwork after the March, it is recommended to use acrylic paint, permanent markers, etc. on thicker than normal cardboard (3/16” or thicker).
Science is first and foremost a human process -- it is conducted, applied, and supported by a diverse body of people. In putting the people who do science at the forefront of this discussion, we can show that scientists come from all cultural backgrounds, belief systems, orientations, genders, and abilities.
The movement values inclusion, diversity, equity, and access, and also strives to be apolitical. Please
refrain from any expressions of harassment. This includes of course expressions of sexism, ableism, racism, xenophobia, etc. But also please refrain from intolerance regarding religious and political beliefs.
